His high intellect combined with witty remarks, amused the audience in a packed room, at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, during the ATMOS Conclave ’15, as he delivered the guest lecture. In simple terms, the ex-Justice of Supreme Court envisions a revolution, on the line of French Revolution, in India within 15-20 years. He has a dream for his country, and it is for the fulfilment of this dream that he has developed this revolutionary ideology. And it was to put across this ideology to the new generation, that he visited BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus.

Letting the briber go free

Professor Tarun Jain

Corruption is an evil that plagues our society. Stringent laws have been formulated to combat corruption; most of these involve prosecution of all parties involved in unlawful transactions. Professor Tarun Jain, Assistant Professor of Economics and Public Policy, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, poses questions and puts forward a perspective that shatters the perception of current laws being the most effective means to curb corruption. The interactive session by Prof. Tarun Jain featured a policy proposal to lower ‘harassment bribes’ that allows bribers to emerge scat free. His expertise in the field and his enlightening and fresh perspective gave the a whole new outlook on how corruption can be wiped out, once and for all.

Why do start-ups fail?

Damini Mahajan & Arjun R Krishna

Sounds Hypocritical.. Isn’t it?. For a generation which is revolutionized by the idea of startups. Startups like Apple,Microsoft,Google,Facebook and many more have revolutionized the whole world with their innovations and their inventory. These premiere startups alone have become profitable and are of more than 1.5 trillion combined. These startups have left the industrial empires in mud, in evaluations. Such immense power is present in a startup. But we have never seen the dark side of the startup industry. The cut throat competition is unimaginable. For every single startup which succeeds there are a thousand more which bite the dust. This talk gave us an insight on the initial difficulties and challenges a start-up faces.
